Clearstream is hiring a
Technical Content Writer
📍 Pensacola, FL
Clearstream is a communication software for churches. Our web-based texting and email app is used by 6,000+ churches, including many of the largest in the U.S.
While our customer base is large, our team is small - around 14 people currently. This means you will play a vital role and you will have a voice. Our culture is genuinely friendly and fun, but also highly detail-oriented, and hard working. But we don't subscribe to the 'work until you drop' startup mentality. We strongly believe in work/life balance. Proof is that we have 4 day work weeks year-round.

What Success Looks Like For This Role
- Technical but approachable writing style: you're able to learn something complex and technical, and then communicate in a way that is simple and easy to understand. You should know what details are worth including, and what should be left out.
- Customer education: You produce content specifically for helping our customers get more value from Clearstream - monthly customer case studies, technical how-to blog emails and blog posts, and product updates (we ship new updates and features multiple times per month).
- Marketing content: you work with our team in producing clear, honest, non-salesy content that will be distributed through social media and Google/Bing ad networks.
- SEO Performance: Improved search rankings and traffic for church-focused content.
- Collaboration: We're a small, tight-knit team comprised mostly of software engineers and customer support specialists. We all work together. You'll collaborate with different people on different teams with the goal of helping customers use Clearstream successfully for their church.
- Humble: you are welcoming of feedback and revisions on your writing. You are willing to work through multiple drafts until it's just right. You can expect a lot of feedback, especially in your first 6 months. Even after 6 months, you will receive feedback, but revisions should become fewer and fewer as you progress in this role.
Requirements
- Multiple years working as a Technical Content Writer or similar role, at a high-level company.
- Familiarity with church culture and communication needs.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
- Understanding of SaaS platforms and their applications for churches.
- Nuanced knowledge of how to write content that helps, not hurts, SEO.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
The Application Process
- Submit an application
- If your application is considered, you'll have an initial Zoom interview with our Director of Operations (who this position will answer to). This is typically about 30 minutes.
- If you move forward, you'll have a second interview with our Customer Support Manager. This role won't answer to our CSM, but will interface with on a regular basis. Expect a 20-30 minute interview.
- If you move forward, you'll do a short writing assessment, as well as a general skills assessment test. If you take the time to do these assessments but aren't selected for the job, we will compensate you for your time spent interviewing in the form of an emailed or physically mailed $200-400 Visa gift card.
- If you move forward, interview with our COO and co-founder.
- If you move forward, we'll send you an offer.
