Marketing Director

About the job
The Marketing Director plays a critical role in driving the execution of strategic marketing initiatives that support brand awareness, lead generation, and client engagement. This role oversees day-to-day campaign operations, content planning, and project execution while collaborating closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, internal teams, and external partners.

As a mid-to-senior level leader on a small and highly collaborative team, the Marketing Director must be both a strategic thinker and hands-on executor—able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and collaborators while keeping an eye on performance and results.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Leadership
  • Collaborate with the CMO to implement and refine marketing plans that support firm-wide objectives, including brand awareness, digital lead generation, and client conversion.
  • Lead strategic planning and prioritization of key campaigns, ensuring clarity of scope, goals, audiences, and messaging.
  • Act as the central hub for integrated campaign execution, partnering with cross-functional teams and agency partners to bring campaigns to life.

Content Planning & Oversight
  • Own the content strategy and calendar for lead-generating initiatives (eBooks, webinars, case studies, resource guides, email campaigns, etc.).
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear content plans and asset needs, coordinating execution with internal staff, freelance writers, and external partners.
  • Ensure each piece of content aligns with brand standards and serves a defined strategic purpose.

Email & CRM Management
  • Oversee the strategy, segmentation, and effectiveness of email campaigns through HubSpot, including nurture sequences, resource delivery, and newsletters.
  • Leverage CRM data and automation to drive increased engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Partner with the CMO and Operations to ensure data integrity, lead flow, and campaign tracking align with organizational goals.

Podcast Strategy – Next Sunday
  • Serve as the marketing lead for Next Sunday, our organizational podcast.
  • Manage the agency relationship, ensuring alignment between production timelines, promotional strategies, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on overarching episode themes, guest targeting, and content distribution strategies.
  • Oversee promotional efforts across email, social, blog, and website channels to maximize visibility and engagement.

Consultant Enablement & Training
  • Lead the marketing onboarding experience for new consultants, ensuring each one understands and can effectively leverage available marketing resources and tools.
  • Develop and maintain scalable training materials, onboarding templates, and communication guidelines.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure each consultant’s materials (bio, headshots, decks) are accurate, high-quality, and on-brand.

Team Leadership & Project Management
  • Supervise and mentor the Marketing Coordinator, delegating project components and ensuring clarity of responsibilities.
  • Ensure alignment, efficiency, and accountability across all marketing activities, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor performance of marketing initiatives and report insights to leadership.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Product Development teams to support launches and internal communication needs.

Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience in church or faith-based K-12 private schools and/or nonprofit strongly preferred
  • Proven track record managing integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM platforms (HubSpot strongly preferred).
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple timelines, vendors, and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities with calm confidence.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite (or ability to collaborate with designers).
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across teams and managing external partners or agencies.
  • Must be a faithful follower of Jesus and comfortable working in a Christian faith-based environment, with an understanding of church, school, and/or nonprofit ministry contexts.


Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with podcast or webinar promotion and production.
  • Familiarity with SEO, paid ad campaigns, and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Copywriting experience for email, web, and long-form content
  • Advanced familiarity with HubSpot, including reporting dashboards, workflows, and A/B testing
