Remote Data Engineer

Ligonier Ministries, a Christian non-profit organization, is seeking a talented Data Engineer to work on the Data Services team. As a Data Engineer at Ligonier, you'll be at the forefront of transforming data into actionable insights. Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement data lakes, data stores, structured data, and a data warehouse using Azure Data Services framework to support business data needs.
  • Develop data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • Monitor and optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval performance to meet established SLAs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document data requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Develop and maintain data documentation, including data definitions, data lineage, and data flow diagrams.

Requirements:
  • Azure Services knowledge including the various data services it offers
  • Data integration and ETL  - proficiency in designing and implementing Extract, Transform, Load processes 
  • Data modeling and database management - ability to design and implement databases
  • Data warehousing - experience with the concepts and tools used for managing and analyzing structured and semi-structured data at scale
  • Data transformation and data preparation - proficiency in tools that enable advanced data transformation, analysis, and machine learning
  • Scripting and programming - proficiency in languages such as Python, Scala, or .NET
  • SQL and query optimization - strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data efficiently
  • Agreement with Ligonier's General Statement of Faith

This position is for a non-profit Christian organization located in Sanford, FL. At this time, we are only able to hire individuals who are authorized to work in the United States.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually. Pay ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately offer more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, geographic location, and organizational needs.
