Faith Comes By Hearing is hiring a
Technology Director

📍 Albuquerque, NM

Faith Comes By Hearing has a full-time position available for Technology Director that builds and directs FCBH technology teams consisting of staff, contractors, and partners to apply appropriate technology to get God’s word to every person with excellence.  Ensures collaboration and communication within and among tech teams and those they serve, leading by example.  Actively maintains relationships inside and outside FCBH to accelerate Vision 2033.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Directs the day-to-day operations of the Software Development, Information Technology, and Facilities departments, including setting and monitoring budgets and timelines, and hiring firing staff and contractors.
  2. Oversees managers and project managers, meeting with them regularly to support, empower, encourage, and hold accountable for excellence and timeliness within budget. Help them build effective teams of personally-fulfilled members, and stitch those teams together as a coherent, well-focused, and enthusiastic unit.
  3. Ensures effective coordination, collaboration, and communication among technology staff and contractors, and their project stakeholders, including clearly documented requirements, progress, and effectiveness feedback.
  4. Works with leaders across multiple disciplines and products, to ensure the best solutions are arrived at and implemented, balancing a desire for excellence with an urgency of mission.
  5. Actively maintains collaborative relationships with external partners and contracting companies toward accomplishing Vision 2033, including organizing and hosting meetings at FCBH, and attending such meetings at external venues.
  6. Promotes a culture of excellence, reproducibility, innovation, healthy risk-taking, and exploration.
  7. Attend conferences, events and forums, representing FCBH’s vision and needs clearly, leading to additional resources and technologies to support the mission.
  8. Communicates technology direction and progress to FCBH leadership, staff, and donors via reports, meetings, and presentations.
  9. Travels domestically and internationally as needed.
 
Qualifications include:
Required:
  1. Excellent organizational skills including establishing effective business structures, budgets, and processes, prioritizing and allocating among many competing priorities and customers, and establishing high quality standards.
  2. Excellent leadership skills including encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and teamwork among team members and multiple teams.
  3. Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills, able to interact with technical and non-technical workers.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to producing and maintaining written documentation.
  5. Business or Technology-related Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years career experience relevant to this position.
  6. Strong problem solving and business mindset.
  7. Proven ability to build consensus among high level teams and individuals
  8. Strong background working with multiple inter-related systems.
  9. Familiarity and natural acumen with cross-cultural relationships
  10. Ability to set overall strategies and help staff to implement and improve processes.
  11. Experience in working with a variety of stakeholders to create and develop quality teams/products.
  12. Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.
Preferred:
  1. Experience in software coding, cloud-management, database, UX and quality testing.
  2. Cross-cultural experience, ideally in Bible translation or distribution, or other Christian ministry.
  3. Non-profit ministry experience.
