Answers in Genesis is hiring a
IT Applications Manager

📍 Petersburg, KY

The IT Applications Manager will oversee multiple teams within the IT Department. These teams are engaged in software development, system integrations, BI reporting as well as configuration and maintenance of enterprise applications. This role includes managing and mentoring direct reports as well as overseeing the resource allocations for projects and support requests from the staff. The IT Application Support Manager will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of internal applications that support the ministry. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading a team, setting priorities, and asking the right questions to ensure focus remains on the goals of Answers in Genesis.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the effort to design, plan, and implement application solutions to support ministry operations while looking to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve solutions.
  • Handle resource allocation of the team across projects and support requests and manage the after hours support rotation.
  • Monitor and maintain internal applications to ensure reasonable uptime and security compliance is maintained.
  • Oversee Tier-3 team and vendor support for purchased applications (e.g. CRM, ERP, POS) ensuring compliance with vendor service-level agreements.
  • Provide leadership and hands-on technical direction in troubleshooting problems and addressing break-fix situations.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that promote a secure and reliable internal applications to support all aspects of the ministry.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful operational support of internal applications.
  • Report to upper management on staff development and internal application support activities.
  • Offer leadership and coaching as you manage staff performance.
  • Pursue training opportunities on management techniques and relevant technologies to help identify ongoing technological improvements.
  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.

Qualifications
Requirements
  • Responsible, self-motivated, well-organized with good time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle and methodologies (e.g. Agile, SCRUM)
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks to meet ministry goals.
  • Maintain a consistent walk with the Lord and regular church attendance.
  • Operate as a person of integrity who is trustworthy, exhibits a passion for the mission of Answers in Genesis, walks in humility and approaches challenging situations with courage.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with PowerBI, Dynamics365, SAP ByDesign, POS

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in software development.
  • 3+ years in a management role.
