YouVersion is hiring a
Copywriter
📍 Edmond, OK
The YouVersion Copywriter is primarily responsible for creating high-impact copy that connects with YouVersion’s target audiences and meets their felt needs. The YouVersion Copywriter works closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to create engaging and effective campaigns, as well as digital and print assets that resonate with the global YouVersion Community. This role will also help curate and edit YouVersion user stories.
YouVersion was created by the local church in 2007 and remains a ministry of Life.Church today. At Life.Church, our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Our team is committed to reaching people worldwide through innovative technology. And YouVersion is one of the ways we get to do that. The YouVersion Copywriter utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.
What You’ll Do
- Create high-quality short and long-form content to be used in cross-team initiatives.
- Tailor messaging to a wide, global audience.
- Understand core messaging and target audience needs for each assigned asset.
- Brainstorm visual copy ideas with designers and marketing strategists.
- Modify copy under the direction of the Director of Brand Voice.
- Acquire and implement a comprehensive knowledge of YouVersion’s brand guidelines, style guides, and content types.
- Develop and test messaging across social media, web, email, print, etc.
- Edit YouVersion user stories for use across marketing campaigns.
Skills Needed to Succeed
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships and partnerships.
- Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills.
- Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems.
- Ability to manage conflict and differing opinions while maintaining composure.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of related work experience.
