Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) is dedicated to making God’s Word accessible to every person through audio and visual Scripture. Our Technology Development team advances this mission by creating and refining innovative tools that reach people in their heart languages around the world.

The A.I. Research Assistant supports FCBH’s growing efforts in audio-based artificial intelligence research. This role focuses on refining, testing, and optimizing AI models for speech recognition, audio search, and low-resource language processing. Working closely with the A.I. Research Lead, you’ll help transform proof-of-concept models into practical tools that further FCBH’s global mission.   This position reports to and is located in our Albuquerque office, this is not a remote position.

- Run experiments on audio AI models under the guidance of the Research Lead.
- Optimize and adapt models for improved performance in low-resource languages.
- Prepare datasets – cleaning, labeling, and augmenting audio data.
- Conduct evaluations and benchmarking of model outputs.
- Document research processes, results, and improvements.
- Communicate effectively to clarify objectives and report issues or results.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team and with partners.

Required:
- Technical proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks.
- Ability to modify and optimize existing codebases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for clarifying research objectives and resolving issues.
- Team player with a servant-leader mindset.

Preferred:
- Experience in speech/audio processing or applied machine learning.
- Familiarity with low-resource language data challenges.
- Graduate-level coursework or equivalent experience in AI, linguistics, or related fields.
